10 Underrated Shakira Singles
We all know Shakira for her Whenever
Wherever, Hips Don’t Lie and Waka Waka but apart from that what else really? Well
quite a lot actually! Shakira has 10 albums worth of singles that you may or
may not be familiar with! Here is the Magia Media countdown of the 10 most
underrated Shakira singles!
10. Pies Descalzos, Suenos Blancos
In English translates as “Bare Feet, White
Dreams” This track comes from Shakira’s third album and first commercial
success Pies Descalzos (Bare Feet) in
1996. The track is a light rock track and has a classic 90s sound to it. Listen to it here
9. Tu
In English translates as “You” this
emotional 90s ballad comes from Shakira’s fourth album Donde Estan Los Ladrones (Where Are The Thieves?). It’s one of
Shakira’s most emotional tracks and has a fantastic black and white music video
you can watch here it’s a real tear-jerker!
8. Te Dejo Madrid
In English translates as “I Leave You, Madrid”
and is a brilliant light rock track. It’s very cheery and comes from her fifth
studio album and first English album Laundry
Service. The song was highly successful in Spain and Italy but not so
successful in English speaking countries. Listen here
7. No
No is a track from Shakira’s sixth studio album Fijacion Oral vol.1. It’s a dark slow paced rock track and features
singer songwriter Gustavo Cerati on the guitar. Cerati is currently comatose
and has been since 2010.
6. Un Poco De Amor
Translates as “A Little Bit of Love” and
comes from the album Pies Descalzos. The
track is a reggae-type track and features and unaccredited rapper. The song is
really cheery and summery. Definitely have a listen!
5. Illegal
Illegal comes from Shakira’s seventh studio
album Oral Fixation vol.2. It’s an
emotional rock ballad and features American/Mexican musician Carlos Santana.
The song is really blue and weepy but brilliant nonetheless.
4. Antes De Las Seis
In English “Before Six”, Antes De La Seis is another ballad with light
piano and guitar. The track is from Shakira’s brilliant ninth album Sale El Sol (The Sun Comes Out) and

3. The One
From Shakira’s 2001 worldwide hit album Laundry Service. The One was very popular with fans but failed to chart well even
though it’s absolutely amazing! It’s a big rocky emotional track about being lonely
and like Tu is a real tear-jerker!
2. Don’t Bother
Comes from Oral Fixation vol.2 and
achieved moderate success. The track is very rocky and is about a perfect woman
taking the man Shakira loves. The track is a great comfort song should you ever
land in that position! Listen here

La Tortura
In English translates as
“The Torture”. Those of you who speak or live in Spanish speaking countries
will probably know this song really well as it was very successful however over
here in the UK it’s basically unheard of! It features Alejandro Sanz and highly resembles the smash hit Hips Don’t Lie. It’s really catchy (if
you can speak Spanish) and addictive! Listen here
